Development Player League

About The Development Player League

With its slogan of "Nothing Given, Everything Earned," the Development Player League is a national all-girls league focused on elite-level training and competition. This standards-driven league is connected to the Girls Academy, the country's top level of competitive girls' soccer.

The DPL is represented by more than 70 teams across nine regions:

  • Northeast
  • Southeast
  • Florida
  • Mid-South
  • Frontier
  • Mountain West
  • Southwest
  • Norcal
  • Northwest

DPL's mission is "to develop the player and empower the person in a purposeful and memorable environment." The DPL provides opportunities for the players to highlight their skills. It also helps create a community for its players and assists them in finding collegiate opportunities. DPL's national events include winter and spring showcases, competitions, and summit events for U12 through U19 players.

In 2022, DPL, the Elite Academy (EA), and the National Competitive Soccer League (NCSL) aligned with the nonprofit USSSA Soccer organization to launch a youth soccer system. The leagues operate in parallel with each other to strengthen their respective organizations and level of competitive play.
